MUDIR MA'HAD AL-JAMI'AH UIN SATU TULUNGAGUNG LEADS MASS IJAB QABUL NIKAH AT VW KOMBI, ON THE 1147th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CITY OF KEDIRI

KEDIRI – Mudir Ma’had al-Jami’ah, Dr. H. Zuhri, S.Ag., M.Si., trusted to directly lead the marriage ceremony procession at the Mass Wedding event in a VW Kombi which was held along Jalan Stasiun, Kediri City, Friday (24/7/2026).

This activity is part of the 1147th Kediri City Anniversary series which is also integrated with the Volkswagen Indonesia Association National Jamboree (VIA) the 53rd. The event started at 07.00 This WIB was opened ceremonially by the Mayor of Kediri, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor and the ranks of Forkopimda, and succeeded in setting a new record from the Indonesian World Records Museum (AFTER) for the largest mass wedding category in a VW Kombi car.

Before the wedding ceremony procession begins, All bridal couples first attend the wedding sermon which is delivered jointly to all participants as a spiritual introduction. Furthermore, Dr. Zuhri appeared wearing formal attire and carried out his duties as a celebrant who legalized the couple's marriage, both according to state law and religious law. He looked solemn and enthusiastic when he had to take turns entering the VW Kombi car cabins one by one to lead each couple's wedding ceremony..

On this occasion, Dr. Zuhri expressed his appreciation for the concept of this event. He emphasized that this kind of mass wedding is not just entertainment or a record-breaking event, but rather a noble humanitarian mission to provide legal certainty for society, which is packaged creatively without losing the sanctity of the marriage pillars.

This mass wedding procession was held uniquely in the cabin of a classic VW Kombi car lined up along Jalan Stasiun Kediri City, with Dr. Zuhri moves from one VW Kombi unit to another unit to ensure that each acceptance is valid and serviceable.
