History of Ma'had

The student community is an important community that will be the forerunner to the birth of scientists (ulama’) which is expected to be able to develop knowledge and provide explanations to the public with that knowledge. therefore students are considered as a driving community (agent of change) to move the Muslim community towards its function as a caliph who is able to read the real world as a divine necessity.

To achieve these expectations, State Islamic University educational activities (UIN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tuungagung is good at curricular, ko-kurikuler, and extracurriculars are directed at empowering students' potential and enthusiasm for achieving the target profile of graduates who have the following characteristics:

1). broad knowledge, 2). have moral character, 3). brave, And 4). have a Muslim soul rahmatan lil'alamin.

Therefore, The strategies used in the educational process are oriented towards activities that are:

(1). building an education system capable of producing critical thinkers, creative, and innovative, (2). strengthening the foundation for scientific development for socio-cultural transformation, (3). making the campus a developer of individual and public morality, (4). building institutional capacity as a basis for developing capacity and character building, (5). strengthening the campus' position as a community developer based on the values ​​of tolerance and moderation, (6). forming the campus community as an agent of social change.

To support the realization of all those hopes, one of which requires the existence of ma'had who can intensively provide resonance in creating scientific-religious Islamic higher education institutions, as well as a form of strengthening the formation of intellectual-professional graduates. Here, the existence of ma'had is able to make a major contribution to this nation through holistic human development. Ma'had as an institution under the auspices of the Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung State Islamic University has 3 principal function, that is: (1). to strengthen, deepen and develop the treasures of religious knowledge that have been obtained on campus, (2). as a center for developing Arabic and English language skills, (3). as a center for personality development with good morals and strengthening of faith.

The existence of Ma'had al-Jami'ah, which is intended for students at Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University, Tulungagung, has been around for a long time.. As for the establishment of ma'had al-jami'ah during the leadership of Dr. Maftukhin, M.Ag. at that time he was still serving as rector of STAIN Tulungagung. On 25 September 2011, The Ma'had al-Jami'ah building was inaugurated by the Director of Islamic Higher Education, Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Prof. Dr. H. Shop, MA. Three-story building with capacity 360 This student has 60 room and 60 bathroom, every floor is there 20 room and 20 bathroom. Every room is occupied 6 students who are placed based on their respective departments and faculties. Then ma'had began to operate in the new academic year, namely 2012-2013 to date. Then the ma'had building was added, which began to be occupied in 1998 2019 which is located to the north of the first building. Floor 1 consist of 11 like, while the floor 2 And 3 consist of 13 like. Each floor has 8 toilets and 8 bathroom. Each room has capacity 4 people with facilities 2 bunk bed 2, 4 cupboard 2 doors and mirrors are installed on the wardrobe, 4 study table and chair set.
